My name is Constance Leder and I am from Durham, NC. I am a freshman Special Education major and in the sorority Alpha Chi Omega. I have one sister who is 25 and graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. In high school I played volleyball and lacrosse and was involved in many clubs like Special Olympics. I was also a tutor my senior year in reading, writing, and speaking English to a second grade ESL student. That helped foster my love of teaching and helping others which has brought me to my major. Both my parents work at Duke University so I grew up a Blue Devil fan but I am thrilled to now be a Tiger!
The ways of authoring for me have mostly been through social media like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. In high school many of the clubs I was in held fundraisers and benefit concerts, the easiest way to spread the word was over Twitter and Facebook events. Also, now that I am in a sorority I am able to use platforms like Twitter and Instagram to bring awareness to our philanthropy events and others news involving our chapter. Though I have mostly used social media as my way of authoring I have also written many research papers and when I was a tutor my senior year I had to write lesson plans for each session I had with my student. I am looking forward to the projects we briefly discussed on Friday and expanding my writing into different types of authoring.
